Mia’s Astro Notes -October Realignment & Mission: Prepare for Winter

The Grounding Project: Slow Season Shift

With a Super Full Harvest Moon, Mercury in Scorpio, and Venus in Libra, October is the time to start figuring out what habits and rituals feel aligned with you and will be what you need to survive the long, dark winter days. Starting this month, I’m beginning a challenge with myself and my spirit guides to truly set myself up for success in the coming months.

The challenge I’m following is broken up into four phases. September 26th to November 2nd is Phase One, where I will be reflecting on what rituals position me closer to my favorite and highest self. Some things I’ll be implementing during this time include dopamine breaks that help me keep moving—like spending the first ten minutes after waking up outside, possibly even journaling. During my lunch breaks, I’ve added extra earth/outside time to rebalance and recharge in the middle of the day. As soon as I get home, it’s time to dance it out for five minutes, just letting my body feel and move with the music. I’ve also added five-minute cold plunges to my showers to help build resilience within my nervous system, repeating the affirmation “I am comfortable with being uncomfortable”—slowly building my endurance for emotionally draining moments or situations that make you feel like you’re being attacked by a bear. Other focus areas include making sure I go to bed and wake up at roughly the same time every day.

These are all things I believe will make the wintertime blues just a little bit easier, which leads me to Phase Two, November 2nd to December 21st—the implementation phase. These next 49 days are simply about putting the plan into motion while still giving yourself continuous grace. Because you are human. Some days won’t be perfect—but beating yourself up about it won’t make the next day any easier.

Phase Three is hibernation, December 21st to March 8th. At this point, I will have my structures in place. I know who I am and where I’m getting my hits of dopamine and grounding, which will help me handle myself with grace during the winter season.

Phase Four is the home stretch. You’re free after March 8th to roughly April—when we hear those birds singing, we know we made it through. 🌷

🌕 October’s Super Full Harvest Moon

This year’s Harvest Moon is also a Supermoon, making it an emotionally potent and powerful turning point. ✨ It’s a time to pause, reflect, and realign—honoring the abundance you've gathered this year while preparing for the slower, more introspective season ahead.

I’ve chosen to journal every morning about what I’m grateful for and how I can continue to move through life with energy that feels grounded.

I’d like to take some time to share what has been abundant in my life recently, just to give you some ideas on where you can start to look for those glimmer moments. My life has been abundant in moments of complex emotion and understanding of myself and those around me. I’ve had so many captivating—and even sometimes grueling—moments with friends and loved ones lately. These glimmers and ego deaths of being in your twenties have shown me that nothing is ever truly personal. People only have the capacity for what they have the capacity for—their emotions, their reactions—that’s all their own, their own projections.

Something my mom has always told me, but I never truly understood until recently, is: You can only control yourself. So why try with everyone else and the universe? You’re not getting paid for it. 😂

Abundance can come in so many forms—and my favorite is emotional moments.

Some other things I do to practice gratitude for myself:

  • When I wash my face each day, I read my affirmations out loud in the mirror, reminding myself that I am human and I am deserving of love.

  • I tell myself and others kind things—even going as far as reminding myself (and others!) that I love them.

  • I make sure to keep up with even the small self-care things at the salon—making sure I look the way I want to feel.

Let this full moon be your cue to care for your spirit—and maybe your hair and skin too. 🌙

🦂 Mercury in Scorpio: Deep Dive Season Begins (Oct. 13)

As Mercury moves into introspective Scorpio, we’re invited to look beneath the surface—of our thoughts, emotions, and even relationships. This energy brings truth to light, encourages emotional honesty, and supports those doing the inner work.

Inner work is that scary thing a lot of us tend to avoid. We’ve seen a lot within the spiritual community of those promoting only love and light. Well, I hate to burst anyone’s bubble—but the only way to get there is to go through the dark. Through our shadow. Through the most inner workings of our soul and mind.

With Scorpio in Mercury—the planet of communication—now is the time to reflect on how our subconscious, our bodies, and our souls are trying to communicate with us.

Expect communication to get real. Now’s the time to journal, reflect, or engage in practices that help you release old patterns, especially around trust, vulnerability, or resistance to change. Like I said—inner work will show us what no longer aligns with us, what no longer serves our higher purpose.

Trust and vulnerability with ourselves is just the start of a beautiful life filled with relationships that feel like home and being heard the first time.

Some ways to practice reflecting in the salon and spa world: book a facial that clears away the buildup and negativity you’ve been holding onto. Or say screw it and try the new haircut. Step into yourself and ask—What feels like me? What do I need more of to feel like my most trusting, vulnerable self?

Whether you're navigating a glow-up or a breakdown (or both), this cosmic shift reminds us: real transformation begins within.

💞 Venus in Libra: A Season of Balance & Beauty (Begins Oct. 13)

This Venus transit invites us into a softer, more intentional space—where balance, beauty, and aligned relationships take center stage. It’s about curating not just your aesthetic, but your emotional world too.

✨ Spiritually, Venus in Libra asks:

  • Are your relationships nourishing your growth?
If not, where can you redirect some of that energy to nurture your own growth?

  • Are your values and desires aligned with your actions?
If not, how can you start implementing little practices every day to move closer to alignment?

  • Are you cultivating peace inside and out?
Are you taking a second to breathe, to step outside and hear what your inner voice sounds like?

Use this time to recalibrate your boundaries, invest in meaningful connections, and beautify your space. Creative energy is high—lean into artistic expression, personal rituals, or even a seasonal style refresh.

Now is the time to be creative in your space and routines. Creative minds that aren’t creating tend to be the most suffering minds. Let those emotions escape and create beautiful moments—and beautiful things.

Take some time to realign with your makeup ritual, your skincare ritual… even booking a tarot appointment can help guide you toward what that looks like.

It’s your cosmic nudge to fall back in love with your life—gracefully and on your own terms.

🔥 Pluto Stations Direct: Step Into Your Power (Oct. 13)

On October 13, Pluto ends its retrograde journey and stations direct, creating a powerful cosmic shift. Spiritually, this is your invitation to integrate inner transformation into real-world change.

Now is the time to really start feeling that challenge I mentioned earlier. To really say:
“I release all the fear, all the stagnant energy, all the beliefs keeping me from moving forward.”

💫 You’ve done the shadow work. Now it’s time to:

  • Release fear and self-sabotage

  • Let go of outdated beliefs and emotional baggage

  • Act with intention on what you've learned during retrograde

Pluto governs the subconscious, transformation, and empowerment. When it turns direct, deep truths rise to the surface—making this an ideal moment to step boldly into alignment with your higher purpose.

Step into these moments as your favorite self—knowing that you are whole and ever-changing, all at the same time. That you are capable of anything that feels aligned with you.

Because if you weren’t? It wouldn’t be spam-calling your spirit phone and leaving voicemails begging for you to answer. ☎️✨

Whether it’s redefining your boundaries, leveling up your goals, or just honoring how far you’ve come—this is your spiritual new chapter moment.

Be the main character of your story.

🌑 New Moon in Libra: Reset Your Relationships

This Libra New Moon brings major potential for powerful, lasting change—especially in your relationships, both with others and yourself.

Libra’s energy is all about balance, beauty, and harmony. Under this lunation, you're invited to let go of what’s been weighing you down and begin again—with grace.

✨ Think:

  • Making peace with the past—the moments that keep you up at night when it comes to your relationships. Remind yourself: you did the best you could with what you had.

  • Calling in healthier, more supportive connections—whether it’s friendships, business relationships, or romantic ones. Feel what your body says when it’s a yes. Feel what it says when it’s a no.

  • Reimagining your environment (inner and outer) with more intention—your appearance, your space, your vibe. Make it your favorite thing in the whole wide world. Let it remind you of the good times when things are hard.

Whether you're setting intentions, starting something new, or just craving a fresh start, this New Moon is your cosmic green light to realign with ease and elegance.

 September: New Routines, New You

September arrives like a turning of the page — Virgo season sharpening the edges, eclipses stirring the tides, and cosmic transits pressing us to shed what’s stale. This month isn’t about surface-level resets. It’s about ruthless clarity: cutting the noise, refining the ritual, and anchoring into rhythms that actually feed you.

The skies remind us that beginnings are born from endings, and every routine we choose is an incantation for who we’re becoming. Step into September with intention. Build the life that feels like truth in your bones.

✦ Saturn Retrograde in Pisces (Sept 1 – Feb 2026)

Saturn slips back into Pisces this month, asking us to finish what began in 2023. This is a season of closure, karmic clean-up, and spiritual boundaries. Old wounds, fears, or sacrifices may resurface — not to haunt you, but to be healed.

Think of it as a final rehearsal before Saturn moves into Aries in 2026. The test is simple: can you ground your dreams in reality, honor your limits, and walk away from what drains you?

How to move through it:

  • Face the unfinished.

  • Strengthen your boundaries.

  • Let endings become openings.

This is the last chapter of a long lesson — step into it with wisdom, not fear.

✦ Mars Square Jupiter (Sept 4)

Tension peaks as Mars in Libra clashes with Jupiter in Cancer. Expect friction between your urge to keep the peace and your deeper need for security. Emotions run high — what feels “fair” may collide with what feels “safe.”

This energy can amplify conflicts, overconfidence, or the temptation to take on too much. But pressure creates clarity: through the friction, you’ll see what’s worth fighting for and where boundaries need to be drawn.

How to work with it:

  • Stand your ground without burning bridges.

  • Speak honestly, not passively.

  • Channel the fire into growth, not chaos.

This square is a mirror — showing where your balance, boundaries, and ambitions need refinement.

✦ Blood Moon Eclipse in Pisces (Sept 7)

A total lunar eclipse in Pisces turns the Corn Moon red, lasting over an hour and visible across much of the world (though not in the Americas). Even if we can’t see it, we’ll feel it. Eclipses are wild cards — they speed up endings, awakenings, and shifts we can’t ignore.

Pisces stirs dreams, intuition, and spiritual truth — but it can also blur reality. With Mercury in Virgo opposing this moon, the call is clear: trust your intuition, but check the details. Don’t escape the truth; meet it with both compassion and clarity.

How to work with it:

  • Listen inward, but stay grounded.

  • Notice where you’ve been avoiding reality.

  • Let this eclipse close one door so another can open.

This blood moon is a mirror between fantasy and fact — and it asks you to walk the razor’s edge between the two.

✦ Mercury Cazimi in Virgo (Sept 13)

Mercury meets the Sun in Virgo, burning bright in the heart of the fire. This is a rare moment of mental clarity — confusion dissolves, details sharpen, and truth cuts clean.

It arrives at the tail end of Mercury retrograde, marking a turning point: revelations surface, patterns snap into focus, and new cycles of communication begin. Virgo’s influence makes this especially potent for routines, work, health, and relationships.

How to work with it:

  • Speak your truth with precision.

  • Notice sudden insights — write them down.

  • Use this clarity to refine your plans and boundaries.

This cazimi is a download from the cosmos — sharp, direct, impossible to ignore. Let it guide your next move.

✦ Mars Square Pluto (Sept 24)

Mars in Scorpio locks into a square with Pluto retrograde in Aquarius — a collision of willpower, ambition, and raw intensity. This is high-stakes energy: breakthroughs or breakdowns, depending on how you wield it.

Expect power struggles, inner shadows rising, and a hunger for control. The pressure is relentless — but it’s also alchemical. What feels destructive now can fuel transformation if you refuse to play small.

How to work with it:

  • Channel obsession into creation, not conflict.

  • Notice where control games are draining you.

  • Use this friction as fuel to break patterns and rebuild stronger.

This square is not gentle — but it is catalytic. Step into it with clarity, and let it remake you.

As September unfolds, let it be your invitation to align with what truly serves you. Cut the noise, refine the ritual, and ground into rhythms that nourish rather than drain. Remember — every ending clears space for a more intentional beginning. Every door closed there is new one opening. Step forward with clarity and trust in the yourself and the universe, and let this month be the foundation for the version of you that feels most true.

Welcome — I’m Mia B, the author of this blog as well as GROW’S most recent assistant stylist…now GRADUATED, and our Operations Manager. I write about the shifting rhythms of the cosmos and how they weave into our everyday lives. My approach isn’t about predictions for each sign — it’s about exploring the universal cycles of clarity, growth, release, and renewal that we all move through. Think of this space as both a guide and a reflection: a place to find language for the seasons of change, and inspiration to move through them with more intention and ease.
